Northwest Indiana Home Sales and Values
WOW, WOW AND WOW! Honestly that is about all I can come up with when we talk about the Real Estate Market in Northwest Indiana for December 2019 compared to 2018. Some of these numbers are amazing. Well, if you’re a seller that is.
So, the overall closed residential sides were down slightly (1.9%) in 2019 with 822 closed transactions compared to 838 the previous year. THE BIG FACTOR is the HOME VALUE which is up 7.5% per square foot with an average sales price of $205,763 up 9.03% compared to $188,719 in 2018. That is amazing when you think about it. Not only that but 33.89% of all the homes sold were listed and sold within a 30-day period. Really this number is more but the time frame for a sale doesn’t stop until the property is marked as pending and has gone through the inspection period.
The MARKET is EXTREMELY HOT for SELLERS! As for buyers the market is hot in a since the values are going up on you and homes are selling rather quickly. When you’re in a market like this you really do want a professional FULLTIME REALTOR! When you’re in competition to purchase a house, you want someone that can get you in the house on your schedule with some leeway if they have some other appointments.
